The Beez Foundation held its First Annual Awards Gala on Saturday evening, February 5, 2005 at The Grand Marquis in Old Bridge, New Jersey. The event was highlighted by the presentation of research grants to four recipients. They are:
The Ronald McDonald House of New Brunswick in the amount of $3,000.00 for 300 nights of family stays. Cancer Institute of New Jersey & Dr. John Glod in the amount of $20,000.00 for continuing research on circumventing the blood-brain barrier with living cells to deliver a therapeutic gene to the brain tumor. Weill Medical College of Cornell University, Dept. of Neurological Research and Dr. Mark Souweidane in the amount of $20,000.00 for research into direct therapeutic administration to the brain. The evening's events included dinner, a silent auction and dancing to live music. |
